Our live fish guarantee
You need to be a rewards member for the guarantee.
- Freshwater fish under $10: 30 days with your receipt (bettas included).
- Freshwater fish over $10: 7 days.
- No receipt needed for a replacement; a receipt is needed for store credit.
- Credit is store credit for the receipt amount. No cash refunds.
- In-the-bag specials and special orders aren’t covered.
- Credits over $10 need the fish and a water sample from the tank.
Fish questions
01Do you sell saltwater fish, inverts or coral?
Not right now. We sell dry base rock as a special order (it usually arrives the same week) and RO/DI water for 50¢ a gallon.
02Can you get a specific fish for me?
We can get most fish that are regularly in the trade, though some are seasonal. Tell us on the request form and we’ll call when it’s in.
03Will you buy my fish?
We can give store credit, usually a third of our selling price. We can’t take piranha, pacu, South American or African cichlids (including oscars and convicts), and we take common plecos without credit.
04Do you sell large aquariums?
We stock a few tanks over 40 gallons. Most others can be ordered and arrive within a week.
05Do you sell live foods?
We sometimes have live brine shrimp; just ask. Other live foods can be ordered in quantity with up to three weeks’ lead time.
06Will you take my used tank?
We don’t pay for used tanks, but we’ll usually take a 20-gallon or larger tank if you’re giving it away.
07Do you service aquariums at homes or businesses?
Not currently.
08What fish foods do you carry?
New Life Spectrum, Omega Sea, Hikari, Piscine Energetics and more.
09What aquarium equipment brands do you carry?
The list changes as we rate brands on value (for lighting, things like light output per dollar, reviews and warranty). Right now it includes Seachem, Aquavitro, Fluval, Instant Ocean, Kent, Eheim, Aquatop, Aqueon and Current USA.
10My fish are dying. What should I do?
Start with Wet Web Media, then ask on a fish-keeping forum and wait for several opinions. Bring us a water sample and we’ll help where we can. For serious keepers we use and recommend Fish Disease: Diagnosis and Treatment by Edward J. Noga; our copy survived the 2013 Newberg fire, half burnt.
11I’m looking for a product you don’t have. Can you get it?
Probably. Send us the request form and we’ll get back to you with availability and price. Most common supplies arrive within a week, as long as one of our regular distributors carries it.
