Field trip & party questions

01What animals can you bring?

Popular picks are tortoises, lizards, snakes, bunnies, chinchillas, guinea pigs, fancy rats and a large bird. For “animal for a day”, usually geckos, snakes, tarantulas, tortoises, frogs, guinea pigs or bunnies.

02What ages is it good for?

All of them. We’ve done toddlers, school kids, middle and high schoolers, elder-care homes and office groups, and we tailor the animals and the talk to the group.

03Are chaperones required?

Yes, one adult for every four kids.

04Can you do a big group?

We keep it small and hands-on: no more than 30 people per group. Ask us about larger events.

05What makes your birthday parties different?

It’s less of a show and more of a private petting zoo: an hour of supervised, hands-on time with friendly animals picked for your birthday kid. We travel anywhere in the greater Portland and Salem area.

06Who counts toward the party size?

The guests. The birthday child and their immediate family don’t count.

07How far ahead should I book?

At least three weeks for parties and field trips, a week for animal for a day, and a day or two for a store visit. Popular dates go early.
